We’ve been making a lot of improvements to TrainSplit recently.

Nothing flashy for the sake of it. Just fixing the bits that matter when you’re travelling, finding better fares, understanding your journey, and not getting stuck when signal drops.

Here’s what’s changed.

Search with Multiple Railcards

We know our customers have been asking for this for several years, and we’ve only ever wanted to support multiple Railcards when we could combine it with our best-in-industry split ticket algorithm.

Breakdown

We’re pleased to now bring this to TrainSplit. You can search for journeys using up to three distinct Railcards, all while still finding the best split ticket combinations.

Our search algorithm can also accommodate passengers who don’t have any Railcards. For example, if you’re travelling with a Two Together Railcard and another passenger without one, TrainSplit will find the appropriate tickets for everyone in the group. We’ll also show you exactly which tickets are covered by your Railcards, and which aren’t, across all your splits.

Everything else stays the same, so you can still use our cross-operator seat picker for all passengers, with seats allocated together where possible.

We’re rolling this feature out across our website and iOS and Android apps throughout Spring 2026.

More Detailed Train Information

Service Details

It can sometimes be difficult to identify which is the right train for you when at the station. To help reassure passengers, we’ve added detailed formation information to our iOS and Android apps.

Previously, this was only available on Android, but it’s now available across both platforms. We’ve also extended this to include graphics of what your train will look like, using data from Realtime Trains.

We’ll continue to build on this to provide more accurate information about facilities in each carriage.

TrainSplit for Business

Our TrainSplit apps now support business bookings for those registered with TrainSplit for Business.

Employees can access their journeys in the app, alongside the same offline and E-ticket features available to all customers. Bookings can also be made on the go, with payment billed to a central organisation.

We’ve also added support for teams, making it easier to manage and report on travel across your organisation. Pre-purchase questions can now be configured with default answers, optional fields, and applied at either a journey or basket level.
